John Maxwell said “Courage doesn’t happen in the absence of fear.”

You can have courage but still be afraid. I have learned when it comes to achieving things that my mind doesn’t think are possible (my limiting beliefs,) is my fear. Courage is the mindset you take to try by taking a risk or choosing a detour instead of turning around and going home.

Courage is about opening the door yourself and not waiting for someone else to open it.

We can wake up with full intention to navigate our day with a positive mindset and make decisions that reflect the person we are trying to be, but if we don’t work at it and do things to help with that mindset we will always fall back to “default” the comfortable mind that we are used to. I know for myself I am in a job that often pulls me in many directions in my day and is often unpredictable. It is very easy in my day to be taken down a negative path when things happen that are unpredictable or that don’t feel good for me. However, I have learned that what I project on myself will be my perception. This means, if I think negatively about a situation and put blame or feel “poor me,” then that will be my perception and that is A DANGEROUS PLACE TO BE! Sure it feels good in the moment and maybe you will get some people rallying with you, but really in the end it doesn’t help with your own well-being. Learning to identify the tough, the challenging and the hurt is healthy. But once you identify you work on moving forward “seeing the good,” not living in the head space everyday. The more you live in one headspace the more you will begin to see the world that way. I ask which headspace you choose?

Everything I write in this blog will be real, honest, authentic, and sometimes raw but please know everything I write is from my heart, from my experience in living out my own best self in the journey to living a full life where I feel like my decisions and mindset match my goals and who I truly am for myself, my kids, my husband and the people in my life that I lead, serve and are connected with. I hope you can take things away from this blog that serve you. I hope to inspire you, maybe make you laugh, possibly cry but most of all I hope I motivate you to take some of these strategies, mindset mantras and use them in your life!
